First Green Award Handed Out

MSTW Climate Change Coordinator Kelly Stock presents green award to Greencor Committee member Wes Penner
Decor Cabinets' Greencor Environmental Stewardship Program Committee has been recognized as a green award recipient from the Community Led Emissions Reduction program.
M.S.T.W. Planning District Climate Change Coordinator Kelly Stock says there are nine members on the committee who come from various departments in the Morden based business.
Some of the green initiatives the committee has instituted since forming in early in 2009 include developing four worm farms that form compost from the fruit and vegetable scraps leftover from staff rooms, reducing paper cup use by 1,000 per day, reusing already printed paper, and ensuring 80% of their cardboard is recycled.
The company has also started its own environmental awards program, called the Green Life After All contest, which recognizes employee efforts.
If you would like to nominate an individual or business for a CLER Program Green Award, contact Stock at the M.S.T.W. Planning District office in Morden.
